The kids were so excited when they woke up and saw the flag in our yard!
We all walked over to the ward breakfast and ate as many pancakes as we possibly could.
We spend the rest of the morning having fun around the house. No parades or anything this year for us.

After hanging around the house all afternoon we went over to Grandpa and Grandma's house for BBQ dinner. We got all of Ryan's favorite childhood sodas. Lila was sneaky and tried some Mello Yellow...

After doing a couple of fireworks at our house we decided that we better go somewhere else, we are just too close to the mountainside.
We all drove down the hill to Tyler's parents neighborhood, a safe distance from anything flammable.
Of course the boys got right into doing it all wrong.
I'm so glad that nobody got hurt, I have to say I'm pretty surprised there wasn't anyone going to the ER.
Bottle rocket wars. We were all worried about Jacob, with only days to go before his wedding.. he better not catch his hair on fire or something!
Lila was a little nervous, but I guess that was for good reason. She actually ended up burning her little hand.. poor baby!
Ryan felt like Jack was old enough to join the older boys in bottle rocket wars. He was pretty happy about that.
Ella wanted a turn... too bad she ended up hitting Chloe right in the back with the bottle rocket! She also looked down into the firework after it was lit! She will not be doing that again anytime soon.
Ryan had really bad gas all night.. so stinky!
As the pile of fireworks started dwindling, Ryan decided that we needed more.. this huge pile was what he came back with. I didn't like how much it cost, but I did like the themes of each.

It was a perfect, low key 4th! Such a happy day.
I'm so thankful and feel so blessed to live in the USA!
