Lunch with Ella

One day Ella forgot her purple folder. It's holds all of her important things for school, like homework.
So the kids and I took it to her and ended up staying for lunch and then for recess after.
(Pictured with the kids is Chloe, Ella's best friend at school)
It was a beautiful day, not windy or too cold.

We're Expecting!

Actual picture date March 15th 2013 * 22 weeks pregnant

Ryan and I were DONE having kids. Like totally DONE.
My whole pregnancy with Lilly was tiring. Although I had always thought I would have 4 kids, I didn't feel like Ryan and I could do it again. Me with my hard pregnancy's and Ryan being in school and still trying to figure out his career it just wasn't going to happen and I was fine with that.
This summer some things changed with my thyroid and I ended up changing ALL of my medication.
*wink*
Then one night I had a dream.
My mother in law who had passed away came to me and told me I was going to have another baby and that it would be a girl.
I woke up thinking that was really weird. Two weeks later when I was holding a positive pregnancy test I couldn't believe it! Ryan, couldn't believe it!
We have struggled with infertility for years, now without trying AT ALL, we are suddenly pregnant!
With my history we decided not to tell anyone.
There were a couple of rough days when I thought it wasn't going to work out.
But the Lord had a plan for me.
After a couple of doctor's appointments and ultrasounds things were looking like everything was going to be fine.
*
The week before we were to have our gender ultrasound we sat down for dinner. Ryan offered the prayer. At the end he blurted out- "and bless the baby in Mommy's tummy"!
My eye's flew open! I could NOT believe he just did that, without consulting me first!
The kids were all very surprised, they had heard us say countless times we were not going to have another baby. Ella kept asking "is this a joke"? NO joke. They were all very happy and excited.
*
So finally the day came for the gender ultrasound.
I had been so nervous, thinking about my dream but at the same time my feeling was that this baby was TOTALLY a boy!
With both of my girl's I was very, very sick. Throwing up several times a day and hardly being able to get out of bed. On the other hand, with Jack there were some days where I felt a little light headed and threw up only once his entire pregnancy.
THIS pregnancy I felt great! A little light headed and tired, but never threw up or even felt sick.
I KNEW it was going to be a boy.
Ryan and I went into the ultrasound- the nice lady started...
I thought I saw something and even told Ryan "I think I'm right- it's a boy"
"Nope" she said "ITS A GIRL!"
I was SHOCKED! I mean SHOCKED!!
I told her "check again!" She checked several different times and said, this is a GIRL!
Ryan and I looked at each other, I imagine my face was like his, completely surprised!
*
It wasn't until we were in the car on the way home that it hit me- that dream was TRUE!
The kids were all at school, we went and got some balloons and made a little party for them.

Jack was very, very disappointed....
He had wanted a brother so badly. He will be the only boy.
(There WILL NOT be a 5th baby for us!)
After some treats and talking about how much fun he will have being Dad's best buddy and how he will get to do all of the fun boy things, he cheered up.
Lilly of course didn't care much, she just wanted candy.
Lilly and this baby girl will only be 22 months apart! Scary for me! My other kids are 4 1/2 and 4 years apart!
It's my hope that they will become best of friends and that somehow I wont lose my mind!

Later that evening when Ella got home she was thrilled to know she was going to have another sister.
She's looking forward to handing down all of her old girl toys to not one, but two little sisters.
*
Later that night we contacted all of our families and told them our good news. I think it's safe to say they were all very surprised and shocked!
15 weeks and 5 days
It's our hope and prayer that things will continue to go well and that we will have a healthy baby in July!
So although unexpected, Ryan and I believe that this baby was meant to come to our family. That she is a blessing and has a special purpose, that she will be another great joy to us and our family.

Ryan's Birthday!

Ryan is 32!
That seems so old. Especially since we met when he was only 20.
The day was crazy taking kids to and from school and running errands.
The kids were so excited to get some balloons and try and make his day special.
The kids each gave him a card and little present.

Later that night we all went out to dinner.
Of course Sami-nanny came to help watch the kids, especially Lilly who was super sad.

Happy Birthday Ryan!!
She cheered right up when she got some fries and ketchup. She loves to dip!

When we got home to had some cake. Jack picked out his candle!

Who doesn't love chocolate cake!?
It was a fun evening!
I gave Ryan a very special gift, but we'll have to wait and see how it goes in 12 weeks!

Random January

January has been a blur.
Lots of gymnastics, pre-school, play practice, homework, book reports, me working a bunch, Ryan busy at work. I keep thinking that life will slow down, but it just gets crazier!
Lilly LOVES shoes, especially my high heels.
At work she loves trying on any shoes that have been left around by other kids.
Jack started a little gymnastics class.
He had been looking forward to it for weeks!

He loved it right away and was able to do everything his coaches asked him to do.
Lilly was very sad. She wanted to run out there and play and do all of the tricks with her brother.
A couple of times she did get away and run over to Jack.

It was extra fun because his best friends Luke and Ammon are in the class with him.

Lilly again running off trying to do what the big kids were doing!
(Thank you for taking all of the pictures for me Sami!)
Jack wasn't feeling well.
I got him some blankets and old rags along with a big bowl just in case he threw up.
I think it's funny how he fell asleep with the bowl on his mouth. Poor guy. He felt much better the next day.
Lilly loves Sami and Tyler.
She also loves to play with hair now, just like Jack!
Jack's friend Seth had his birthday, Jack wanted to get him a matching batman costume.
These boys are so silly!

The other night Jack told me that he is now extremely strong and can lift a car.
This intrigued me and I requested he show me.
OH, this car. Yep, he sure can lift it!
Lilly wants to do EVERYTHING the older kids do, especially Jack.
She figured out how to climb onto the bar stools.
Except that's really dangerous.
We had to move them all into the garage.
She thinks she's so big!
