Hair Cuts

Last Sunday after church Jack came down stairs (smelling very strongly of hair spray) to show me how he had styled his hair. Something he likes to do several times a day
Except this time as he got closer I saw that there was a HUGE chunk of hair missing..
right in front!!!
We went up stairs and found my sewing scissors (from way up on a shelf in the laundry room!) and a pile of his hair on the kids bathroom floor!
I am so happy that he didn't cut anything else, those scissors are sharp!
We got the buzzers out and told him we had to shave all his hair off!
That was more then enough of a punishment for him
He hates the buzzers!
We also talked about how only Lisa and I are allowed to cut hair around here!!

He was still very sad that I had to use buzzers all over his head
he also told me over and over that he doesn't like his new hair cut
I hope that means that he will never do anything like this again!
I loathed the hair cut at first too, but I guess I'm getting used to it
Now every morning he comes in and tells me "Look Mom, it grew! My hair is longer today!"
Good thing hair grows and quickly!
Mary and Jack
(Pre-haircut!)
This is what out weekends look like around here
Thank you for documenting it for us Kevin
I also wanted to document
In the evening...........and...............the next morning
I do not know how Jack makes such a huge mess of his room!!
Seriously!? How do I stop him from doing this.. everyday!!!??

Superhero Party for Sami

Although it was Sami's birthday a couple of weeks ago, she waiting to have her big party when most friends and family would be able to make it.
It was super hero themed and turned out so cute!
Mary had been working on costumes for her and Kevin for weeks!
They turned out SO GOOD!!! I still haven't believe that she made they both from scratch!
Kevin getting it in the face with silly sting, from Ryan of course
The kids were just upstairs hanging out and watching movies
We all thought that it was so funny Jack just so happened to be wearing his batman jammies!
But once he figured out it was a costume party, well he had to dress up too!
Thank you Heather for helping me last minute with mine and Ryan's costumes!
Seriously, this just about gave me nightmares.. you're so creepy Tyler!
Alissa and Seth
Most of the group
We all played games and hung out

Happy Birthday Sami!!!!

Ella's Field Trip

Since the first week of school since we moved to Utah Ella had been looking forward to going on a field trip with her class to the Salt Lake City Planetarium!
I signed up to be one of the parent helpers
But on the morning of the field trip I woke up feeling terrible.
As I was getting Ella ready to go it got worse and worse.
(I even ended up throwing up! Sorry if TMI!)
When I dropped her off I told her I was sorry but I didn't think that I would be able to go with her after all.
She was very sad... to say the least.
So I went home and PRAYED to feel better!
And I did
Within an hour I was feeling a lot better and quickly got ready and rushed to the school to meet the class before they left.
As I walked in the room and Ella saw me, she burst into tears!
It was so sad and sweet
She was so happy that I was there and going to go with her!
I was worried that going on an hour bus drive would make me sick again, but it was fine
Ella thought it was SO fun to be on the bus with all of her friends!
The class was broken up for each parent helper, I had 9
The kids thought it was so fun for me to take pictures of them pretending to be on the moon and on Mars
The kids (and I) learned a lot and had a lot of fun!
The WHOLE class, including Ella's wonderful teacher!!
Then we got to all go into this huge movie theater
The screen was the entire ceiling
Ella thought that was pretty awesome
I started feeling a little sick again, I ended up taking a nap the whole movie!
I felt perfect again when it was over
We took a small drive over to the old Union Pacific building in down town to eat lunch
It was kind of scary.
Although a very nice homeless boy showed us some of his skateboarding tricks

The kids got to run around a little too
On the bus for the ride home!
It was such a fun day!! I am so glad I was able to go!!
I'm also so glad I feel so much better!
Love you Belly Bug, I am so glad I got to spend the day with you!

The last days of February

I swear I felt like it was crazy busy all week, but can't really think of anything we really did.
Just regular life I guess.
Things are becoming a lot more routine and normal being here in Utah.
(Jack is asking a lot less to go back to "the house with the pool" so that's good!)
The other night I was upstairs when I heard some weird noises coming from the kitchen.
Jack had pulled his bike into the house from the garage and was "fixin" it.
He had some tools.. including a hammer and a flash light.
I love his look of frustration and concentration.
I am not sure if he ever fixed the bike, or what was even wrong with the bike in the first place.
I love having a little boy!
Ella is really good at the computer and she loves being on it.
We have had to set strict time amounts for her, or she would play on the computer all day.
Jack likes to watch her play too, or watch a movie.
*
It's starting to feel almost spring like here!
I know, I know... It's barley the first of March and Utah is known to have snow in APRIL!
But I think that I'm actually getting ready for spring now. Ready for parades, BBQ's and playing at the park! Lots of fun things happening this summer!

Playing at the Park

It was been the nicest Utah winter (knock on wood!!!) that we've ever had
The only bad thing about having it 50 degrees all the time is that the snow is never good enough to make a REAL snowman.
It was nice to take the kids on a little bike ride down to the park
They needed to get OUT of the house!

I know it's funny that there is snow on the ground, but it really was pretty warm outside!

Jack is becoming so brave!! We couldn't believe how strong he was to go all the way across the monkey bars!

Ella makes friends wherever she goes!
Which is good, since she's been a little lonely since we moved here.
If anyone has children around her age (7) we should get together for a play date, let me know!
My sweet babies!

Happy Birthday Sami

Last week was my cousin Sami's birthday!
She and her husband Tyler have been hanging out with us a lot lately
Sami's having a big party this weekend, so her actual birthday was turning out kind of... lame
So we decided to all go out to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate!
Ryan is SERIOUSLY so weird
It rubs off on the kids....
They were being weird and having a kissing fight.
Better then the regular kind of fighting they do most of the time I guess!
Tyler was able to meet us there after work! Except he got a little lost on the way and made a wrong turn. We knew he was close so we looked out the window, just in time to see Tyler running across the street. He finally was able to see the restaurant, but got a flat tire just across the street! Oops! Hehehehehehehehee!
I specifically asked that they embarrass Sami as much as possible!!!

After dinner, the boy's changing Tyler's tire!
What a night to remember! Happy Birthday Sami!

Deja Vu

Jack got stuck... Just like this other time..

Culvers In Utah

Ever year my parents give me a gift card to Culvers, I LOVE their chicken strips!
They have a couple of Culvers Arizona, but none in Utah, that I knew about.
Until one day my Mom called me from Culvers
(often times just to rub it in that she's there and I'm not)
to inform me that they were building a Culvers in Utah!
We were so excited and went opening week!
Sami came with us!
Seriously, I have NEVER had a chicken strip anywhere else that compares to Culvers!

Ryan and Sami got a little picture happy
Sami's favorite outtakes!

THANK YOU for building a Culvers in Utah!
(good thing it's not THAT close, or we would be tempted to go wayyy too much!)
