Midsummer's

I was so excited when I heard about a big midsummer's up in Salt Lake and knew I had to take the kids. What I didn't know was how hot it was going to be, we were all melting!
We got there a little late, but still had lots of fun things to do!

Lila heard the music and had to dance.

Transitional Swedish music.

Jack loved all of the cute little things to play.

Showing his Swedish pride!

Thank you Formor for the beautiful wreaths!

We all had to get several drinks with how hot it was.

The kids played some games and got face paint.

Jack kept wanting to take the camera..

More of Jack's camera work...

Of course we needed to take a picture with the king and queen of midsummer's!
We met up with some of our Lewis/Swedish cousins!

They serve a nice traditional dinner there, but with four kids and it being so hot we decided to dine elsewhere.

Dinner and Ikea still counts right!?

What a wonderful day! I'm so glad we went and can't wait to go again next year!
Glad Midsommar everyone!!

Hot Summer Days

I guess that Lila wanted HER picture taken!

Silly girl!!
With so much going on in July and August, it's been nice to just be at home and having the kids play outside all day.
Jack has made such wonderful friends here.
Will actually was in our ward in Arizona and then again in Traverse Mountain.
His family just follows us everywhere we go!

Seriously, such weirdos!

A Summer day with the Bailey's

Now that summer is in full swing.. this is our average day.
Breakfast! Every morning the kids ask for pancakes.
Lila is really a great eater!

Look at the toothy grin!
We threw on some swimming suits and headed to the splash pad!

It's warm outside, but the water is still a little cold..

After going home and changing we met up with some Lewis cousin's for the Orem parade.

Jack's favorite is always BYU!

Cousin/friends!

Then home again for dinner and watching the sunset.
I sure love where we live and especially summer!

Cedar Hills Parade

With the start of summer, that means the start of parades!
The kids were so excited!

Ella even got to participate with her friends at NOVA.
It's a group to protect kids that Ella joined last year.

Who knew it could be that exciting to pass out water bottles?

It was so cute.. There were missionaries who were walking the parade too!
Jack went to shake all of their hands!

Neighborhood Carnival

One afternoon we drove passed a park in our area and found a little carnival.
The kids were dying to go, so one evening after Ryan got home from work we went to check it out.

Everyone could pick one ride.

I was so happy Ryan was able to come along. So many times he can't make it because of work.

Ella and I both choose the viking ship! Lila was totally freaked out and crying.
I can't believe in just a couple of short weeks this girl will be 12! She's the best helper, babysitter, friend and big sister! So happy I got to go on this ride with her- not only literally, but on this journey into middle school!

When Jack decided that he wanted to go on this ride Ryan and I both were thinking.. no way.
But he insisted. He was going to go all alone, until we found out he couldn't and another older boy hopped in. Jack said he was really nice though and trying to keep Jack calm by asking him things like where he went to school and how many siblings he had.

His shoes flew off when he was going around!
He said he wasn't really that scared and would do it again. I guess he's growing up!

Finally it was time to go home, but we had just one ticket left.
We figured out that it could be used on one of the little games.
Lilly was thrilled to be chosen.
She won a crown!
I'm so excited for summer! We have so many fun things planned!

The French Bakery

Since school is out and Ryan had the day off we thought we would go explore a new restaurant called "Gourmandise the Bakery" in Salt Lake. It's a little french bakery.

Of course Ella was thrilled above all others.
And of course she ordered the macaroons for dessert.

Jack ordered this little porcupine guy! And Ryan the bread pudding.

Lila was so naughty I thought we might get kicked out! She wouldn't stop screaming over everything!
Terrible 2's are starting already!

After we walked around City Creek for a while. Such a nice family day.
